As a sufferer of constipation, bloating and the other pleasant side effects that come with digestion issues, I am an advocate for colon cleansing. Colon cleansing is the practice of removing waste from your intestines. There are different ways to do a cleanse: a colonic hygienist will perform this while you lie on a table and litres of water is pushed through your rectum flushing out the toxins through another tube. The other method is by taking oral supplements, which contain laxatives and other ingredients to eliminate waste and toxins through bowel movements. A natural colon cleanse involves drinking plenty of water and keeping a strict diet of fruits and vegetables and eliminating other foods.

In today’s fast paced world, we often do not eat as well as we should. Fast food is a huge cause of build up in our systems. Pollutions in the air can also contribute to toxins in our system.

When we don’t take the necessary precautions to keep our colon functioning at an optimal level, our bodies can begin to experience negative symptoms which include: bloating, headaches, fatigue, excessive flatulence, weight gain and skin disorders like acne.

Colon cleansing has many benefits. For constipation sufferers, it is known to help with regulating bowel movements. After a colon cleanse, you will experience a boost in energy. As excess waste and toxins are removed from your body, you may find your adverse symptoms reduce significantly or disappear completely.

Seeing a colonic hygienist has benefits. The procedure can be done while you are in the office. It is quick and mostly painless. However, there have been some associated risks with this specific procedure such as dehydration due to the loss of fluids, electrolyte imbalance and bowel perforation. I cannot specifically speak to this procedure as I have not had it done on me, but I am sure the professionals use utmost care and experience when this is done on patients. If you have question concerning this, speak to your healthcare professional.

Oral supplements are a quick, convenient method for colon cleansing. Be sure to read and follow the instruction prior to use to make sure the product is appropriate for your use. They come in a variety of forms, capsules, teas, and powders. Bee Balm Vitamins in currently in the process of making our own supplements available. Be sure to replace healthy bacteria that may have been removed with probiotics.

The body, however, is naturally designed to cleanse itself if we take the time to do it correctly. Eating fruits and vegetables with intake of plenty of water, will help the body eliminate waste and remove toxins.

Whichever way you decide, colon cleansing provides much benefits to your system. As we take the time to care for our outer appearance, our insides should be equally cared for.
